UC Irvine Study: Aromatherapy and Memory Support
At Valley of the Moon Aromatherapy, we believe in research and grounding our work in both tradition and evidence. After reading one of the most compelling recent findings in the field of olfactory wellness from researchers at the University of California, Irvine, I wanted to create a memory bundle for our customers.
This 2023 study examined the effects of nightly exposure to essential oils on memory and brain health in older adults. Participants aged 60–85 diffused a different scent each night for six months while they slept. The results showed significant improvements in memory performance, along with measurable changes in brain pathways linked to cognitive function.
The oils included in the study were: * Lavender * Rosemary * Peppermint * Lemon * Sweet Orange * Eucalyptus and Rose (we offer Rose Geranium as a beautiful affordable alternative)
